A New Holiday for a New Year
Last year, while having dinner with my husband’s former classmates, we discussed going abroad for a holiday to celebrate New Year’s. As I had just recently joined Anantara Vacation Club, we decided to organize a trip for all of to visit beautiful Phuket, Thailand.
We wanted to stay at Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao Phuket, so we booked two Pool Villas in advance. We had a total of ten people (five couples) with us on our trip, and as we checked-in, the mood was happy and excited. We were ready for our long-awaited trip. Once we had arrived at our rooms, everyone was pleasantly surprised how spacious and comfortable they were, and that we had everything we needed.
In the afternoon, we explored and had fun, and took in an amazing sunset on the private beach. A cool sea breeze was floating through the air, and we had the opportunity to take some really amazing pictures. We were five pairs of couples acting like children on the beach. So worry and care-free, if it wasn’t so much fun, it would have actually been embarrassing!
As evening arrived, we headed out for the New Year’s Eve dinner in the resort. The food was rich, the atmosphere was harmonious, and the wine filled us with joy. After our meal, we were picked up by the resort’s electric buggy and transferred to our next destination across the road – the New Year’s Eve party!
There was a live band in full swing, set up on a temporary stage on the beach. There was drinking and dancing along the shoreline, with a nice group of other travellers. It was a great experience indeed.
As the clock ticked down to midnight, we counted down the seconds together, hugging and wishing each other a very happy New Year. There were lights and fireworks, and we felt truly blessed to be together to celebrate the arrival of 2019. It was a great moment for us all!
It was a holiday experience we’ll never forget. Anantara Vacation Club was a great place to spend quality time with my family and my husband’s high school classmates. We sailed and snorkelled, getting an up-close look at Phuket’s underwater world. We enjoyed the food, the wine, endless laughter and youthful fun. We can’t wait for us all to come back again soon. See you next time Anantara Vacation Club!
