Anantara Vacation Club, Southeast Asia’s premier points-based vacation programme, has swiftly adapted its company strategy in the face of the new coronavirus epidemic that has swept the world. With the tourism industry having been severely impacted, Anantara Vacation Club has managed to maintain successful operations earning them a number of hospitality awards in China and beyond.

Anantara Vacation Club is Asia’s premier vacation ownership programme. It was launched in 2010 by Minor International PCL, the owner of Minor Hotels. The Club offers a portfolio of seven luxurious Club Resorts across Thailand, Indonesia, and New Zealand and provides Club Points Owners and their guests with the opportunity to explore top holiday destinations. Club Points Owners’ travel opportunities are further enhanced through the use of the flexible Club Escapes and Global Traveller programmes, which provide access to hundreds of partner resorts and hotels internationally.

Located amidst the beautiful scenery of southern Thailand, Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao Phuket is one of the Club’s signature properties. Fully renovated in 2020, it now features more than 150 villas and suites, dining outlets and a wide range of modern facilities to meet the needs of guests.

In 2020, Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao Phuket was the recipient of multiple awards, including:

‘The Vacation Destination Hotel Award of the Year’ at the City Travel Hotel Awards, ‘The Best Family Hotel’ at the Life Element Best Hotel Annual Awards, and ‘Best Overseas Hotels’ at Voyage Best Hotel & Resort Value Awards.

In addition, another Signature Club Resort, Anantara Vacation Club at Avani Seminyak Bali, was recognized by TripAdvisor and named as a 2020 Travelers’ Choice Winner. This ranks the property amongst the top 10% of hotels worldwide. Having undergone an expansion in 2019, Anantara Vacation Club at Avani Seminyak Bali now boasts 15+ private Pool Villas, more than 20 spacious Apartment Suites, and a selection of top-notch facilities.

"First we’d like to thank the industry for their recognition of Anantara Vacation Club. This is not just a recognition of our efforts in the past year, but rather these accolades can go to spur confidence in the future of the entire tourism industry." said Maurizio Bisicky, Chief Operating Officer of Anantara Vacation Club. "At the start of the pandemic, we quickly adjusted our company strategy and opened new preview centres in Shanghai, Kunming, Chongqing and other regions in China. At the same time, by expanding our partnerships, we are providing our China-based Points Owners with more domestic hotel choices. Keeping in line with the momentum of our development, additional initiatives are already underway to be launched in the near future.”

Originating in Thailand, Anantara Vacation Club has always maintained a leading position with its in-depth understanding of the Asian market, innovative partnerships and the mission of providing excellent service. Although there are still many restrictions on international travel, Club Resort properties are still operating to meet the needs of domestic tourists. When international travel resumes, Anantara Vacation Club will be ready to provide the Club Points Owners and their guests with a home away from home.
